Practice overview:
Hayley has quickly carved out a busy family law practice. She undertakes all forms of family law cases, in the private and public sector, as well as ancillary relief, Schedule 1 applications and cohabitee disputes under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996.
Hayley has experience in the Family Proceedings Court, County Court and High Court. She has represented parents in lengthy fact finding hearings where other parties have been represented by leading and junior counsel. Such cases have involved allegations of physical, emotional and sexual abuse. She also has experience of representing local authorities and drafting documentation for all stages of public law proceedings.
Hayley has recently been involved in a High Court case where the court had to grapple with an application for contact by full biological siblings with their adopted sister who had been contacted via a social networking site.
Hayley is particularly accustomed to dealing with highly sensitive issues and adapting her approach to the character of each client. She has a firm approach when advising clients and can be relied upon to go the extra mile for whomever she is representing. Clients can be rest assured their cases will put thoroughly and skilfully.
During the 12 months prior to starting pupillage Hayley worked in the reputable family law department at Passmores Solicitors, Barry, Vale of Glamorgan. This gave Hayley the opportunity to gain invaluable experience of serious child care proceedings involving non accidental injuries and pools of perpetrators. Furthermore she dealt with cases with international dimensions which involved wardship proceedings and invoked the Hague Convention. Further experience was gained by appearing before District Judges in the County Court by representing clients in private law disputes as well as conducting contested hearings in respect of domestic violence applications for Occupation and Non Molestation orders.
