Practice overview:
Rebecca joined Cathedral Chambers as a tenant in December 2020 after successful completion of her pupillage under the supervision of Sheila Radcliffe and Christine Abbott.

Rebecca accepts instructions in all children matters, including public law, private law and domestic abuse injunctions, and has quickly built up a busy practice regularly receiving positive feedback from lay and professional clients.

Rebecca has acted for Local Authorities, parents, guardians and other parties within public law proceedings and has accepted instructions on hearings from initial stages through to contested final hearings for varying parties. Rebecca has experience dealing with cases involving Non-Accidental Injuries, factitious illness, litigation capacity involving the Official Solicitor, neglect, domestic abuse, drug misuse, emotional harm and physical harm as well as matters arising under the inherent jurisdiction of the High Court. Rebecca has acted in cases ranging from Magistrates Court to the High Court. Rebecca has had involvement with cases following conclusion of initial care proceedings to include applications for revocation of placement orders and applications to oppose adoption orders.

Rebecca receives regular instructions in relation to private law work relating to Child Arrangements Orders, Prohibited Steps Orders and domestic abuse injunctions. Rebecca has acted in First Hearings through to contested findings of fact hearings and final welfare hearings. Rebecca has dealt with matters including serious allegations of domestic abuse, sexual assault, neglect and drug misuse. Rebecca has received a number of instructions involving international elements, arranged marriages and gender based violence. Rebecca has acted for parents, family members and guardians within private law proceedings and inunction proceedings.

Prior to obtaining pupillage, Rebecca completed a Law with Criminology degree at University of Glamorgan and went on to study at Cardiff Law School to undertake the Bar Professional Training Course. Upon completion, Rebecca started working as a paralegal in a Top 100 law firm in Cardiff within their nursing care team before moving on to a paralegal role within a national firm specialising in county court advocacy in civil claims.

Rebecca is an international Allstar cheerleader, having competed at the World Championships in 2022 representing Wales and receiving a gold medal.
