Practice overview:
Rhodri joined Cathedral Chambers as a pupil in October 2021 and was supervised by Sheila Radcliffe during his pupillage.
Rhodri has already started to develop a busy Family Law practice and accepts instructions in all areas of Chambers’ work, including Public and Private Child Law and Divorce Financial Remedy Claims.
Rhodri is regularly instructed in all types of section 8 applications as well as injunctions under the Family Law Act 1996. Rhodri undertakes the full range of hearings from the First Hearing Dispute Resolution Appointments through to Findings of Fact and Final Hearings.
In matters of Divorce Financial Remedy claims, Rhodri deals with all aspects and stages of such work.
Before pupillage, Rhodri completed a LLB degree at Cardiff University, attaining a 2.1 degree classification. Rhodri then went on to complete the LLM / Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) at Cardiff University, attaining a ‘Very Competent’ classification.
Following graduation, Rhodri worked in a Family Law Centre serving townships in Cape Town, South Africa, followed by a Human Rights Internship in St Louis USA. Rhodri has also worked as a paralegal for three different firms of solicitors in South Wales between graduation and starting pupillage at Cathedral Chambers.
As a fluent Welsh speaker, Rhodri also completed ‘Eiriolaeth yn y Gymraeg’ (Advocacy in Welsh) as part of his BPTC and accepts instructions to undertake hearings, conferences and to provide opinions through the medium of Welsh.
