Practice overview:
Sascha joined Cathedral Chambers as a tenant in May 2018 following successful completion of her pupillage under the supervision of Sara Owen.
Sascha has developed a busy and successful family law practice. Sascha frequently represents local authorities, parents, children, extended family members and intervenors in care proceedings, at all stages of the proceedings from contested interim hearings through to fact finding hearing and final hearings. She also represents clients with learning disabilities and acts on behalf of the Official Solicitor. Sascha conducts cases involving non-accidental injuries, child neglect, substance misuse, sexual abuse, emotional harm and physical harm.
In private children law matters, Sascha represents parents and wider family members in applications for Child Arrangement Orders, Prohibited Steps Order, Specific Issue Orders and enforcement proceedings involving risk of abduction, emotional harm, intractable hostility and allegations of physical harm.
Sascha has a sensitive yet firm approach which is adapted to her individual clients. Her manner is likeable and honest which regularly gains positive feedback from both professional and lay clients.
Prior to commencing pupillage, Sascha gained three years’ experience within the family law department at Hutton’s Solicitors, Cardiff. This provided Sascha with the opportunity to gain experience of serious child care proceedings involving non-accidental injuries and sexual abuse. Furthermore, she dealt with international abduction proceedings involving non-Hague Convention countries.
